Searching The Word

I am writing this article to display the great advantage to using a Bible Search program. An excellent online Bible Search Program is http://www.blueletterbible.org/ . I have been using this online resource for many years to accompany my Bible study and answer my Bible questions. Http://www.blueletterbible.org

Is a wonderful website designed to use online without having to download and store a large program on your computer. It is also accessible anywhere there is an internet connection. This website has been very valuable to me in the last few years.

Http://www.blueletterbible.org is similar to a Strong’s Concordance because it is a vast researching tool which allows you to look up any word in the Bible. You can also access any verse in the Bible by typing in the Chapter and verse in the search window. In fact while researching and exploring this website for this article I just found the resource provided called “put off /put on” available under the study tools of the menu bar on this site. The direct address is http://www.blueletterbible.org/study/misc/putoffon.cfm

This page provides a list of undesirable traits that we are urged to weed out of our lives giving the scripture reference to each trait. Beside each soul trait is the scripture to overcome with the answer Christ God has provided in His Word.

There are a growing number of people who do not prefer the King James Version of the Bible. Http://www.blueletterbible.org provides many different translations to the King James Version of the Bible. I am partial to the King James Version mostly for one reason; you can take every word back to the original language in which it was derived. The Old Testament scriptures go back to the Hebrew language and define the word in question while the New Testament scriptures go back to the Greek language and are defined.

When using the King James Version of the Bible you are allowed to access many aides to studying that verse. They provide list of options to the left of the verse as follows

  • “K” provides the user with all the cross references to that verse in the Bible.
  • “C” provides the user with the Concordance of each word in the Hebrew or Greek.
  • “L” provides the user with a list of commentaries on the verse chosen
  • “I” provides the user with a list of maps and images to view
  • “V” provides the user with all versions available for the verse chosen
  • “D” provides the user with dictionaries to help understanding

Blue Letter Bible provides free CDs for those without internet access and 10 free CDs for churches. This ministry also provides a daily Bible scripture, a daily Bible promise or daily reflection on grace. They also provide free tools for Java users to add to their website.

In my opinion this is a great work which has been issued online for our benefit. They are diligently spreading the news of the Gospel and helping people to lean on God’s precious Word. I hope you enjoy this resource.
