Why We Go Through What We Go Through

I heard an interesting sermon from Creflo Dollar the other day. It was discussing the Book of Jonah. Wow. You hear the kids story Jonah and the Whale and it seems so fantastical. However it is very easy to read over things if you have a prenotion to the text you are reading. The phrase "from the Presence of the Lord" is written three times in Jonah. It describes Jonah's disobedience and his abandonment of God's plan.

Sometimes we can leave God's presence by not doing what he tells us or just by our own selfishness. In Jonah's case it was both. Another time this phrased is mentioned is when Adam and Eve were hiding from The Presence Of God. Once again when Cain was sent from the Garden of Eden.

It goes to show that when we disobey we are running from the presence of God.
